Virtual Reality Experiences and Experiencing King at NC State
A vMLK curricular experience was developed for COM 110 Public Speaking students at North Carolina State University. Additionally, digital modeling of the church sanctuary to accompany the sound recordings led to the development of virtual reality and gaming simulations of the speech. The vMLK project was alsofeatured during a weekend long event held at NC State in September, 2016. Over 300 people participated in interactive tours of the vMLK project where they viewed documentaries and archival materials, experienced the walk-in immersive version of the speech, and tried out the gaming and virtual reality platforms.
