The Principal Investigators have worked to design and develop the Virtual Martin Luther King Project as a pedagogical and scholarly resource at NC State University and beyond.

Production Team

Production Team

The Production Team has worked to develop the project in a variety of capacities ranging from sound and architecture to design and gaming development.

MLK Actors

MLK Actors

The vMLK Project has worked with voice actor Marvin Blanks who performed the recreation of the “Creative Protest” speech at White Rock Baptist Church in 2014. Additionally, body actor Matthew Wright helped to develop the Dr. King avatar motions and mannerisms for the virtual experiences.

Research and Pedagogy

Research and Pedagogy

A major part of the VMLK project is focused on developing pedagogical materials and resources for educators and students. Currently, the resources have been developed for Public Speaking courses. Additional, courses including Visual Rhetoric, Digital Rhetoric, and Rhetorical Criticism are courses the Pedagogy Team are developing.

Humanities Advisors

Humanities Advisors

The Virtual Martin Luther King Project has collaborated with advisors from a variety of institutions in order to develop a guiding framework for the continued work of the project.
